Ilsfeld introduced a low-emissions zone of the strictest level on January 1, 2013. The aim is to prevent vehicles from entering that emit a high concentration of nitrogen oxides and deteriorate both the quality of the air and of life for its citizens. From this date on, only vehicles with a valid green plaque placed on the windscreen can enter Ilsfeld and the majority of German cities.

The obligation to own the environmental badge applies to both German and foreign passenger cars (M1); motorhomes (M1); heavy campers (M1); minibuses (M2); buses (M3); small transporters (N1); transporters (N2); trucks (N2); and heavy goods vehicles (N3).

From January 1, 2013, if you want to visit Ilsfeld in Baden-Württemberg by car, you are obliged to stick a valid green environmental badge on the windscreen. Therefore, only passenger cars and trucks with the lowest impact on air pollution that falls under the Euro 4 (diesel) or Euro 1 (petrol) emission classes are allowed to enter the zone. Failure to comply with these rules is punished in Germany with a fine of 80 euros.
