Are you going to Schwäbisch Gmünd by car?
From January 2013, if you want to visit Schwäbisch Gmünd by car, you are obliged to have a valid green environmental badge on the windscreen. Entrance to the zone is therefore allowed only to passenger cars and trucks that produce the lowest level of air pollution that falls at least under the Euro 4 (diesel) or Euro 1 (petrol) emissions classes. Failure to comply with these rules is punished in Germany with a fine of 80 €.
The Schwäbisch Gmünd low-emissions zone includes the whole municipal area, including the B29 road, which intersects the town.
