This low emission zone has been abolished. No environmental badge is required for any type of vehicle to enter. Environmental badges that have already been issued remain valid for all other low emission zones in Germany.
The low-emissions zone of the strictest standard has been in effect in Schwäbisch Gmünd since January 2013. Only passenger cars and trucks with the green environmental badge are allowed to enter this city and the majority of other German cities. You can order the stamp at your convenience on our website and when delivered, place it in the bottom or top corner on the right side of the vehicle’s windscreen.
In 2008, environmental zones were introduced also, for example, in Hannover and Munich, so to obtain an environmental sticker will certainly pay off.
From January 2013, if you want to visit Schwäbisch Gmünd by car, you are obliged to have a valid green environmental badge on the windscreen. Entrance to the zone is therefore allowed only to passenger cars and trucks that produce the lowest level of air pollution that falls at least under the Euro 4 (diesel) or Euro 1 (petrol) emissions classes. Failure to comply with these rules is punished in Germany with a fine of 100 €.
The Schwäbisch Gmünd low-emissions zone includes the whole municipal area, including the B29 road, which intersects the town.
