About green zones in Stuttgart

Green Zone in Stuttgart, Germany

In Stuttgart, the environmental zones were introduced in the same year as in Berlin, i.e. on 1.3.2008. Gradually, however, as in most German cities, entry was allowed only to more environmentally friendly vehicles and since 1.1.2012, only vehicles with the green sticker on the windscreen have been allowed to enter the city. Without this badge, you risk a high fine when entering the city centre.

Driving in Stuttgart

Are you going to Stuttgart by car?

From 1. 1. 2012, all drivers need a green badge to enter Stuttgart. Entrance is therefore allowed only to vehicles with a minimum level of air pollution that falls under the Euro 4 and Euro 1 emissions classes for diesel and petrol, respectively. Failure to comply with these rules is punished in Germany with a fine of 100 euros.

The low-emissions zone of Stuttgart includes the city centre, as well as adjacent neighbourhoods, which intersect the important communications B10 and B14.
